The Hunter Valley area near Pokolbin is renown for its world-class wines and fresh local produce.

Held over three days, and including more than 20 events incorporating both iconic and new Hunter Valley vineyards, the inaugural is sure to be a wonderful event on the foodie social calendar.

Over 150 wines will be on offer, paired with some of the freshest seafoods available. Semillons offered will vary from new releases to museum show pieces. Wine master classes and cooking demonstrations (including an Oyster Master class), will be presented and will have you all clued up and armed to impress your friends with your new found knowledge.

Wine has been produced in the Hunter Valley since the early 1830's and today there are over 120 wineries producing a wide array of exceptional wines and is one of Australia's most well-known wine regions. The Hunter Valley produces less than 2% of Australia's wine, yet lays claim to some of the industry's oldest and most well-known wine making families and the Hunter Valley is recognised as the world's leader in dry white wines made from Semillon.

A wide variety of dishes will be served over the weekend by local restaurateurs, including non-seafood dishes, as well as freshly shucked oysters grown by local Port Stephens oyster farmers. Winemakers will be on hand to share their wine knowledge and a guest celebrity chef will teach you some great seafood recipes.

Bring a picnic rug, sunscreen and a hat and get ready to make a day of it. Parking will be available in the grounds at Tyrrell's and children are welcome.

Why not book a room at one of the boutique resorts and hotels and take the whole weekend to enjoy all that this gorgeous area has to offer?
