Do you need some belly laughs?
Hunt for the Wilderpeople
Hunt for the Wilderpeople

Hunt for the Wilderpeople' is a hilarious must-see film by the multi-talented New Zealand director Taika Waititi.

Ricky Baker (Julian Dennison from Paper Planes) is one bad egg. He steals, blows up thing and wants to be a gangster. He is placed under the care of an eccentric foster aunt and cantankerous foster uncle (Sam Neill) until an unexpected accident occurs.

Ricky and Uncle Hec form an unlikely pair when they find themselves lost in the stunning New Zealand wilderness with the law chasing after them. Overzealous social worker, Paula, is determined to find Ricky and send him to juvenile detention.

The movie is based on the book Wild Pork and Watercress written by Barry Crump. There are a number of Easter eggs in the film, but you'd probably have to be a New Zealander to notice the references to classic Kiwi film and advertising references.

I giggled throughout this film and recommend it whole-heartedly if you need a good laugh.
