A cafe that's like a playcentre, only with much better food
A brilliant new cafe has recently opened in Tyabb. If you have kids, you really need to check it out.
The Hungry Peacock is the realisation of two couples who had a dream of opening a creative place where families can enjoy time together. Where kids can be entertained and adults can enjoy a nice meal or great coffee uninterrupted.
It's a mixture of a play centre and cafe combined in a delightful old cottage-style building.
Out the front there's a deck overlooking a fully equipped sandpit with trucks and an assortment of toys. There's a cubby house, construction zone and a very popular long pipe where kids can roll balls and cars down.
There is also a very unique construction site equipped with foam bricks, construction hat, a crane rope where you pull up a bag full of bricks and a wheelbarrow. My son LOVED this. As, it appeared, did most of the children.
Also very popular is a racetrack attached to the wall where kids can race toy cars.
A toy-filled toddler enclosure is lots of fun for the little ones keeping them very occupied.
The menu offers lots of yummy, healthy options and the prices are very reasonable. The children have such options as multigrain sandwiches, hummus and fruit plate or for something a little more unusual, strawberry and banana quesadillas.
The Hungry Peacock is a great family friendly day out. Filled with creative play opportunities and the chance to let parents enjoy great food and a fun atmosphere. The owners' passion and hard work in achieving their dream has clearly paid off. The café has been packed every day since opening in early July.
Make this your next breakfast or lunch outing. Your kids will love it, guaranteed.
