Wednesday. It's midweek, and its just about the time you start getting restless as you await Thursday and the inevitable damage you're to do to your pay-packet. What is one to do? Sure, you can sit at home and watch a reality show or the latest in a long line of cops shows, or you can get up and head out for some midweek entertainment.

In keeping with this, I've come up with a few suggestions of things you can do that will a) be accommodating of your payday-eve budget and b) ensure you're not TOO hungover for work the next day. That way, everybody wins.

Music anyone?

Grumpy's Green 125 Smith St Collingwood

Grumpy's currently does a midweek special. For ten bucks you can get a pizza and a pot, couple that with the free live musicians and you've got yourself some inexpensive entertainment.

Website: www.grumpysgreen.com
Cost: min $10 for pizza and pot

Or maybe you wanna laugh?

Death Star Canteen Comedy - Caz Reitop's Dirty Secrets 80 Smith Street, Collingwood 3066

Located in a small dungeon like room downstairs at Caz Reitop's Dirty Secrets, Death Star Canteen Comedy Night is a showcase of up and coming local comedic talent. Entry is five dollars which frees up your extra money for a few drinks or homeward bound kebab.
Comedy starts: 8:30pm
Cost: $5 entry

Or maybe, you just wanna sit and watch a movie?

Astor Theatre - 1 Chapel Street St Kilda VIC 3182

Head on down to the Astor and pat Marzipan, the 20 year old cat-in-residence and catch some classic movies at one of the last remaining single screen cinemas on the planet. Wednesdays are usually screening double features, so for a measly $10 you get two movies for the price of one.

Cost: min $10

Here are just a few ideas for things you can do on a Wednesday to avoid the doldrums and still ensure you're ready and functional for Thursday. If you think of any others please be sure to add them in the comments section.

Go-Go Dancing! Went to Anna's Go-Go Dancing Academy last night for the first time and as a complete newbie had no clue, but it was a heap of fun and sneaky way to exercise:-)
