Shop eco and socially responsible with indie, local fashion
Eco friendly store, Hullabaloo Bazaar, is set on busy Boundary Street in West End and spills out onto the footpath to entice you in to see what's on offer. There is a wide selection of clothing, jewellery and accessories for women, men and kids too so you can get something for the whole family.
When I walk into this little shop, I am always greeted by the friendly staff who are often chatting with one of the locals over the counter. It's a great mix of t-shirts and other casual clothing along with hats, bags and accessories which makes this store a great place to drop in regularly to see what's new.
The owners work closely with their suppliers to ensure that you are buying an eco-friendly and socially responsible product from small communities, micro businesses or individuals. It's nice to know that your money is going straight back into the pockets of small businesses instead of to larger corporations so you can ensure your dollars stay in the local economy. The shop also tries to minimise the amount of materials that are sourced from overseas and attempts to only accept natural fibre fabrics where possible.
The children's clothing is problem my favourite section of the store since I now have a raft of nieces and nephews to buy for. The little girl's dresses and cute boy's tees are really unique and you feel that you're getting them something special. I love all the little hats you can buy from fedoras for cool little dudes to sunhats for little misses.
This is a great store to shop with a conscience as well as getting genuinely unique and indie made clothing and accessories. Well worth a look in next time you're in West End.
