I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Spend a relaxing 90 minutes cruising the longest river in New Zealand to Huka Falls with
Huka Falls Cruise. Skippered and crewed by "jack of all trades"
Jordan, the boat has comfortable seating inside and outdoor spaces to stand in the fore and aft.

As we travelled slowly up
the Waikato River, towards the falls, various types of bird life were spotted as well as trout in the shallows. The skipper indicated points of interest and wildlife as well as answering our questions with good humour. Our group was made up of visitors from India, Australia, Canada and New Zealand and everyone spent the time swapping stories and getting to know each other.

After passing a geothermal power station and the Huka Prawn Park we reached the falls.
Jordan brought the boat into the foaming water several times so that everyone could get a chance to get close. The trip downstream was quicker and
Jordan was happy to offer tourism suggestions and advice as well as chat to his passengers.

Swimming off the boat in the pristine clear waters of the Waikato is possible if the conditions are suitable. Tea and coffee are complimentary and self serve and there is a toilet on board.
The Huka Falls Cruise is a great value, low adrenaline, family-friendly activity to do whilst in the Taupo area.
