This November, the City of Onkaparinga is proudly hosting three major family-friendly events, which will all be located in the seaside suburb of Christies Beach.

Kicking off this fun and festive month will be the always popular 2013 Christmas Pageant .

This anticipated event will be held on Sunday 24 November 10am-1pm and will travel along Beach Road, from the corner of Perry Street to the Esplanade, with supplementary activities following the pageant at Rotary Park.

The vibrant pageant itself will feature over a thousand participants and is sure to delight onlookers with an eclectic range of marching bands, roving entertainers and talented performers.

Following the pageant, families are invited to indulge in a range of free family activities at Rotary Park, including live music performances. Plus the little ones can enjoy face painting, craft and games, as well as a special visit from the big red man himself, Santa. There will also be refreshment stalls and a sausage sizzle by Rotary Club Noarlunga conveniently located onsite.

Complementing the 2013 Christmas Pageant is the launch of the anticipated Sand Sculpture Exhibition ' Under the Sea ' by Sandstorm Events, which will run from Saturday 23 November (when carvings will still be under construction), on the foreshore at Christies Beach.
This event is a first for Adelaide and the week-long event will see 8 professional sand sculptors from Australia and abroad, including the current World Champion Karen Fralich, create a spectacular sand sculpture display, which reflects the beauty and mythology of the sea.

The public is invited to visit the display, daily from Monday 25 November to Sunday 1 December 2013. The exhibition will also be accompanied by a range of interactive activities, including daily speed carving demonstrations and sand-sculpting workshops, where one can learn the tricks of the trade.

Children will also be able to participate in a full range of children's activities, including sand art, sand bottles, sand pens and sand sculpting workshops [entry fees apply: from $5.50pp].

Plus, on the final weekend of the exhibition, a 20 tonne Christmas themed display will be unveiled! On this same weekend, the Beachside Food & Wine Festival will also be held on the foreshore at Christies Beach.

Last year's inaugural event attracted some 30,000 people and featured over 45 site holders. This year, the event is expected to be a bigger success, as there are more events and activities on offer. The event is open all day from 11am – 10pm on Saturday 30 November and there will be a wide range of stall holders showcasing a fine selection of regional food, wine, art and wares.

Plus organisers have put together a bustling arts and events program; the main attractions include 'The One & All Tall Ship', a working sailing ship of a design based on the original rig of an 1850's brigantine and a special lighting effects show on Saturday 30 November, which will showcase the sand sculpture exhibition; this show is sure to delight the whole family. Plus there will be live music performances, roving entertainment, a fashion parade, a full range of children's activities and rides, and even an opportunity to ride a camel along the beach!
