Get your ears ready for some Blues baby
If live blues music is your thing, mark off the 9th of March on your calendar for an afternoon of laid back entertainment at Capalaba.
On Saturday 9th of March, the 5th Redland Bayside Blues Festival will be held at Capalaba Regional Park. The organisers say that the aim of the festival is to provide a family orientated event that is affordable for residents and visitors of The Bay.
Food vans, a bar and children's entertainment will help make a day of it along with some community displays.
Artists include Vix and the Slick Chix, The Dale Robbins Band, Brew'n the Blues, BB Factory, Dezzie D and the Stingrayz, The Kennedy Queens, Minni Marks, The Hipshooters, The Button Collective and John Klose.
Redland Bayside Blues Festival has been championed by the Rotary Club under the direction of Warren Doyle, who with help and support from the Redland City Council, Blues Association of South East Queensland, The Capalaba Sports Club, The Army Cadets and the dedication of many others have been able to put the event together. Organisers expect around 5,000 people to attend.
Gates open at midday and a blanket or some folding chairs will help make you comfortable.
The event is fully licenced.
Entry is free, although a gold coin donation will help out with future Rotary projects.
