Anna Moder has finished her shift at the grocery store in small town Alaska and just wants to go home when she witnesses a shooting in the parking lot and can't help getting involved. The next think she knows Anna is travelling with a Caleb, bounty hunter who is secretly a werewolf. Little does Caleb know that Anna has a few secrets of her own.

This book was not the silly escapist fluff I was expecting. I mean, it was a lot of fun to read, and it does feature sexy redneck werewolves, romance and nudity, but it's also a story with actual substance, and deals with the heavy topic of abusive relationships, something you would never guess from the terrible (well, by romance standards not so bad) cover. Anna, or rather Tina, is on the run from her abusive husband, Glenn and the parts of the book about her relationship with him are a little grueling, and might be triggering for some readers."Of course, I couldn't tell my friends, "Glenn doesn't want me to spend time with you," because that made it sounds so unseemly and controlling. So when I retreated from those relationships, my friends thought it was my choice. I was one of those women who can't maintain friendships after they get into a relationship. I was a Cosmo cautionary tale, in more ways than one. As time went on, a lot of Glenn's problems became my problems."

There is also plenty of lighthearted fun, action (imagine Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series, only with vampires), and witty banter between Tina and Caleb, so fans of paranormal romance will not be disappointed.

How To Run with a Naked Werewolf is the third book in Molly Harper's werewolf series, but if, like me, you mistakenly pick up the third book first (I really wish publishers would put numbers on the spine to avoid this sort of thing), the story will still make sense, although there are minor spoilers for the previous two novels. Books one and two are How to Flirt With a naked Werewolf and The Art of Seducing a Naked Werewolf. There is also a series of vampire novels set in the same universe, beginning with Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs.

How to Run with a Naked Werewolf is a fun, action packed read with a bit of substance. It will appeal to fans of paranormal romance, and anyone who likes the odd explosion or bar fight mixed in with their love stories.
