A short while ago I had an article published in WeekendNotes on what I thought were "The 5 Best Board Games". In no particular order the games were Chess, Checkers, Scrabble, Rummikub and Monopoly.

Not long after that a friend of mine asked me why I didn't include Trivial Pursuit. I couldn't answer him as Trivial Pursuit is one of those great board games, so maybe I should have made it "The 6 Best Board Games".

After talking to a number of people, Trivial Pursuit is one of those games that you either love playing it or you absolutely hate it with a passion.

It's a game that is played all over the world and it is found in so many variations that it would be impossible to count how many there are. I did carry out a bit of research into what variations of Trivial Pursuit there are and after about five minutes I gave up looking for any more, because there were so many.

Here are some of the ones that I found:

• The Beatles Trivial Pursuit (2009)
• Trivial Pursuit Team (2009)
• Trivial Pursuit Bet You Know It (2010)
• Trivial Pursuit Master Edition I (2010)
• Trivial Pursuit - The Rolling Stones (2010)
• Trivial Pursuit - Disney For All (2011)
• Trivial Pursuit - Classic Rock (2012)
Trivial Pursuit - Welcome to America Edition (1985)
Trivial Pursuit - Sports Edition (1987]
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - Rock & Pop (1987)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - Sports (1987)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - The Good Life (1987)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - War & Victory (1987)
Trivial Pursuit - Edition France (1989)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - Hollywood Flicks (1989)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - TV (1989)
Trivial Pursuit Mini Pack - Wild Card (1989)
Trivial Pursuit - The Vintage Years (1989)
Trivial Pursuit Master Game - Genus Edition (Original) (1981)

Not only can Trivial Pursuit be played as a board game, it can be played by having a MC reading out questions to an audience and then they write down the answer that they think it is. You can also play this game On Line. There are games shows on ESPN and other TV shows and if you wish and there are even games played on YouTube.

Trivial Pursuit is a game in which winning is determined by a player's ability to answer general knowledge questions on just about everything I could possibly think of. This is why I am not very good at it by myself, but I go really good when I am in a team, especially when I have my wife Leanne with me as I can bounce so many things off her.

So for just a bit of fun I have put together 100 Trivial Pursuit question together. They are spread over 20 different categories, some of which come under the Hub Tiles of Hub Garden for which I am one of the many writers who put articles together for the web site.

Now what do you get from reading this article and playing my Trivial Pursuit game. Maybe you will learn something new? You might go so far as to get totally bored. Maybe you will get nothing out of it and think what a waste of time that was! Or maybe you will find something interesting at the end of the article about Trivial Pursuit.

To help you along a bit I have added a picture for each category that may or maynot help you answer the questions.

So, if you feel up to it why don't you have ago at some of the questions in your favourite category and send in the answers via the comment box.
