Whenever I cook for people they always comment on my rice and question 'what's your secret for making the rice so perfect?', and the answer is so simple I will share it with you.
Let's say you're making one cup of rice:
1.Heat a tablespoon of oil or ghee in the saucepan or ricecooker (whichever you use at home).
2. Add one small teaspoon of cumin seeds and wait until they start to sizzle a little.
3. Add the rice, stir it around to ensure it all gets a good coating of the oil, leave it on the heat for a few minutes stirring occasionally.
4. Then add your water and cook as per normal.
5. When the rice is ready switch off the power or stove, and leave to sit
with the lid on for a few minutes; this is when the rice will get fluffy.

My Perfect Rice
And that's it. So simple and you'll end up with gorgeous, soft fluffy rice that has a slight crunch. This works just as well with brown rice, you end with something a little more crispy and a little less fluffy but just as tasty. Enjoy!
