Recently I have been constantly researching, sampling and trying new ways to become healthier and feel better in not just the way that I look but how I feel on the inside and how my body copes with day to day life. For most people, I think I can assume that if we were asked when was the last time we took a long relaxing hot bath with no distractions or interruptions it would take a lot longer than necessary to remember. From what I have read and tried myself I wanted to give people ideas of things they can do on a day to day basis to improve their health, and wellbeing.

This article is about 'detoxing' but it's done in a healthy way to promote a better lifestyle and a happier you. The 3 steps are as follows:

1. It really is an understatement but Water. We are recommended to have between 7 - 10 glasses of clean water a day. I can't emphasise just how positive water is for the body. It naturally eliminates toxins out by flushing the body through its 'systems' such as the bladder, kidneys or pores in the skin. Another important elimination is through sweat.

2. Green Tea is a natural antioxidant which has multiple reasons to use when trying to find a better you and/or improving your well being and overall health. It is for one an excellent source of antioxidants, it burns fat and allows you to exercise for longer.

Green tea is known to prolong your life as it has many jobs such as protecting your liver from alcohol, your lungs from smoking/second hand smoke, reduces high blood pressure and boosts your immune system to fight illnesses. It is a tasty drink however if it doesn't suit your taste buds you can add natural sweeteners, honey or fruit for a kick in the taste department.

3. Lastly, the method of a detox bath. Detox baths have been used for as long as people have been wanting to change their lifestyles and improve their health. They work in opening the pores and causing us to sweat out all intoxicants in the body and can even clear up our skin. The best thing is that you don't need to buy an expensive mixture you can make it from everyday items found in your house.

For example I used a cup of Epsom salts, 1 cup of baking soda, 10 drops of tea tree oil (to make skin feel soft and smell good) and a teaspoon of ground ginger which is known to make you sweat more. All that needs to be done is as the warm water is filling your bathtub simply add all ingredients to dissolve then endure 20 minutes of sweaty bliss, and an extra 20 minutes if possible for your skin to soak up all the goodness of the tea tree oil.
