The best things in life are free, and when better to put this age old adage to the test than on your birthday? Maybe your friends and family have forgotten your birthday? Maybe you're just short on cash this year to celebrate in style. Never fear, just follow this Weekend Notes guide to nabbing some freebies and you can be on your way to having your best birthday ever; all without breaking the bank.

San Churro Chocolateria
The Deal: FREE churros for two (valued at $13.95)
The How: Sign up to the San Churro club and print out your birthday email from them and present at any San Churro outlet together with your photo ID. Then sit back and indulge in some of the yummiest chocolate and churros around.
