Cooking With Kids

Cooking with children can be really rewarding and fun, it's great to teach them how to cook simple food like spaghetti, cupcakes, and pizza and it's something they will remember for a long time.
Always keep calm when cooking with children, they don't understand fully yet what they're supposed to do. Write up on a white board or a sheet of paper the list of ingredients and steps you need to take in order to make the certain food. They can read out what they need to do, or you can say it to them.
Explain to them why you need certain ingredients, or why you need to take certain steps, "We need to roll out the dough so it's flat so we can put our toppings on it", or ask why them why they think you need to do a certain step.
Don't worry about the mess, it's supposed to be a fun and a learning experience for the children. Use the 'clean as you go' method and keep a wet cloth and towels around so you can wipe up spills and messes.
Always do the hot stuff yourself, putting things in the oven and taking them out of the oven. Kids might want to do these steps but it's better for when they're a bit older, in case of a burn.
Show children how to tell if a certain food is cooked, explain why eating raw food is dangerous and bad for your body.
Last of all, take the food out and have a try. The kids will be really stoked if their dish comes out perfectly, and they'll want everyone to try it.
A list of foods you can try cooking with kids are:
Chocolate chip cookies
Cake
Cupcakes
Muffins
