In honor of the day, brush up on some of your French fry facts. Did you know there is debate over whether the Belgians or French invented the French fry? According to todayifoundout.com, the British prefer to dip their fries in malt vinegar, while Americans typically prefer ketchup. There's quite a bit to learn about a tiny piece of food.
If you're someone who enjoys dressing up in costume for special occasions, halloweenadventure.com has a french fry costume that will go along quite well with the theme of the day. For the woman who wants to dress up as ketchup to her partner's fry costume, there's a ketchup dress and hat available. You can't celebrate National French Fry Day without eating at least a few French fries. There are two places in NYC that are ideal when you're hankering for fries. The first is Pommes Frites, which is located on 2nd Avenue in the East Village. They sell an entire menu of Belgian fries and a variety of sauces to go along with them. Some of the sauce options include War Sauce, Sweet Mango Chutney Mayo, Sundried Tomato Mayo, Blue Cheese, and Wild Mushroom Mayo. Next up is Shake Shack, which has several locations throughout the city. In addition to plain fries, they also sell cheese fries which are topped with cheddar and American cheese sauce. If I had my choice between the two, I would opt for the cheese fries.
