Fettuccine Alfredo is one of the most beloved pasta dishes, and rightfully so. It's a delicious blend of al dente pasta and creamy
sauce while allowing for a variety of other items to get added in as well. If you have a love of the dish like I do, you'll be happy to know that National Fettuccine Alfredo Day is on February 7. There are no shortage of ways to celebrate the day in NYC, so get your stomach ready for some fantastic food whether you make it at home or head to one of the many possible restaurants.
Learn the facts
Often when we eat in a restaurant, we know an idea of what we're eating, but usually don't know all the details about it. The pasta is obvious:
fettuccine is ribbon-like pasta. The word itself means "small ribbons" in Italian. The standard recipe for
Alfredo Sauce includes butter, cream and parmesean cheese, but garlic may also be added.
Make the entire dish from scratch
The standard Alfredo sauce
recipe surprisingly doesn't take very long to make. It requires only a handful of ingredients and takes less than 20 minutes to make. You'll need heavy cream, crushed garlic, butter, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. To make
fettuccine noodles , make a basic pasta dough recipe, flatten it out in an at-home pasta machine, then when it's as thin as you would like it to be, cut the noodles into foot-long strips.
Try new add-ins
You've likely had Fettuccine Alfredo, but maybe never had anything added in with it. On February 7, make a miniature potluck for yourself to try how the dish tastes with different items. Prepare a basic Fettuccine Alfredo recipe, then use a tiny bowl so you can put a bite or two of Fettuccine Alfredo in it and mix in each additionally ingredient individually. Some add-ins to consider include grilled chicken strips, broccoli, shrimp, bacon, lobster, and cajun chicken strips.
Visit new restaurants in NYC
There are so many restaurants to visit in NYC that serve Fettuccine Alfredo, but not all of them are worth the visit. However, three that are include
Spiga on West 84th Street,
Da Franco Ristorante Italiano on 21st Street in Astoria, and
Trattoria Trecolori on West 47th Street. Your stomach will definitely be quite happy on Fettuccine Alfredo Day. Mangia!
Wear themed accessories
For Fettuccine Alfredo Day on February 7, deck yourself out in appropriately-themed accessories. When you go shopping for your ingredients to create the entree, put your groceries in an "I Love Fettuccine Alfredo"
canvas tote bag . Another option is to sport an "I Love Fettuccine Alfredo"
key chain . Should you prefer to decorate your kitchen instead, consider the

With so many ways to celebrate National Fettuccine Alfredo Day on February 7, you'll certainly have your fill of it by the end of the day. Considering it isn't exactly the healthiest of the pasta dishes, use the day an excuse to have a big bowl of it and dig in if you wish.
