Those with a love of dairy can rejoice in June it's National Dairy Month. It's time to have some ice cream, take some cheese-making classes and down a tall glass of milk. Throughout New York City, there is an abundance of delicious dairy items and a wealth of information for you to learn. Get ready to indulge in all things dairy in honor of National Dairy Month.

Dairy Delivery

You probably heard how years ago there used to be milkmen who would delivery fresh milk door-to-door. They're almost obsolete, with the rare specimen found in certain parts of the country they're almost mythical. Since 2007, Manhattan Milk has worked to bring back dairy delivery service in NYC by delivering the products right to your doorstep old-school style. They not only deliver milk, but also yogurt, eggs and cheese right from Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The products are 100% organic and farm raised and are produced with no growth hormones, pesticides or antibiotics. They also have other products including turkey and regular bacon, soy milk, water, meat and juice. For more information, visit the Manhattan Milk website.

Cheese Making and Shopping

IloveCheese.com has an easy-to-use pairings guide with all the information you'll need. Simply hover your cursor over a cheese on the left and the information will pop up on the right.

Ice Cream

New Yorkers love their ice cream whether it's triple digit temperatures outside or you're slipping on ice. Chinatown Ice Cream Factory offers more flavors of ice cream than one can imagine. In addition to flavors you would anticipate, such as Vanilla, Rocky Road and Mint Chip, there's also Wasabi, Coconut Fudge, Ginger, Black Sesame, Mango, Green Tea and Peanut Butter & Jelly. They also have several sorbet flavors. They're located on Bayard Street in Chinatown and are open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
