It's rich, creamy, decadent and makes a lot of people go weak in the knees. Cheesecake is a favorite dessert of many, and quite a few are going to be happy on July 30 considering it's National
Cheesecake Day – I'll certainly be one of those people. Whether you want to go out and get a slice, or stay in and make a few cheesecakes of your own, there are several ways to celebrate the occasion in New York City.

Buy a cheesecake

There are several places throughout the city who sell delicious cheesecake, but they charge an exorbitant amount of money for them. Instead, let's go for a few places who offer quality at a good price. Eileen's Special Cheesecake , located on Cleveland Place, is one of those places that offers ridiculously good cheesecake for a reasonable price. There's three different sizes available and a long list of varieties including Chocolate Raspberry, Blood Orange, Peanut Butter, and Rocky Road. Some are by special order only, so review their online menu first. Junior's is another one of those places who offer pounds of cheesecake in drool-worthy varieties. Some of the types you'll encounter include Chocolate Swirl, Red Velvet Cheesecake, Devil's Food Cheesecake, and Lemon Coconut Cheesecake. There are a few locations across the city – Brooklyn, in Grand Central, and in Times Square. Last but not least is S&S Cheesecake , which is located in the Bronx. Some of the varieties include Cherry, Carrot, and Pineapple. All are likely to make any cheesecake fan quite happy.

Make your own at home

There are some serious cheesecake recipes out there, and they're worth trying if you have time to make them at home. Three of them are on AllRecipes.com and are specifically for the chocolate fans – the Chocolate Cappuccino Cheesecake , White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake , and the White Chocolate Cheesecake with White Chocolate Brandy Sauce . You may want to keep the entire one for yourself just so you can do periodic tastes.

Purchase cheesecake themed items

Those who love cheesecake may also enjoy buying a few similarly themed items for themselves or loved ones. The Cherry Cheesecake Scented Candle looks like a miniature cherry cheesecake is shoved in a glass, so when you can't have the real thing, this is at least a good substitute. Another purchase option is the Body America by Delon New York Cheesecake with an Edge Vanilla & Strawberry Body Butter , which is comprised of organic ingredients including vanilla and strawberry extracts and Aloe Vera leaf juice.

Cheesecake of the Month

If you want to enjoy a cheesecake once a month, or you want someone else to, without making it or having to buy it every month, consider a Cheesecake of the Month club . It works in increments of 3, 6 or 12 months, and it shows up right at the door. A different type will come every month.

Give cheesecakes to friends and family

On National Cheesecake Day, make a few cheesecakes for certain family or friends and deliver it to them as a surprise. If you're a regular at a small business, you may also want to drop one or two off there as well for the entire place to enjoy. Put a label on each container with a list of the ingredients you used so those with dietary restrictions will know what's in it.

With so many ways to celebrate National Cheesecake Day, it's almost impossible not to find a way to indulge in your favorite dessert.
