foods that I don't mind eating. February is Hot Breakfast Month, so if you're not a big fan of breakfast or you feel you don't have the time to do so, now is your chance to change things. There are a variety of ways to celebrate in NYC whether you're trying new foods or getting better organized so you can start your day off right.
Have breakfast with family and friends
Make plans to have breakfast with family and friends as often as possible during Hot Breakfast Month. It's a great way for those who aren't a big fan of breakfast to get motivated to eat it more often. To save money, get a group together who are willing to host a potluck breakfast at their place once or twice a month and everyone can alternate so everyone has a chance to hold it at their home.
Choose on-the-go breakfast foods
Not everyone has the time to make a huge, hot breakfast every morning. During Hot Breakfast Month, make it your mission to find foods that you can heat up and eat quickly or take it on the go. Some options include ham, egg and cheese wraps, steel cut oatmeal, and sausage, egg and cheese biscuits. In some cases, you can make the breakfast the night before and heat it up quickly first thing in the morning.
Try new breakfast foods
You may not be a fan of breakfast foods, but during Hot Breakfast Month, try as many as possible in order to find ones that you'll actually want to eat on a daily basis. The standard breakfast foods, including eggs, waffles, pancakes, bacon and sausage, may not appeal to you, but there are plenty of ways to change them up to something you'd want to eat. For example, make a Western Omlette, waffles with strawberries, PB and J Pancakes, Bacon Cheddar Pinwheels, or a Sausage Breakfast Casserole.
Increase the amount of times you eat breakfast
You've very likely heard how breakfast is the most important meal of the day. If you're not the biggest fan of breakfast, use Hot Breakfast Month as a chance to increase how many times you have it. Aim for eating it at least three times a week and by the end of the month, see if you can work up to eating it every day. You'd be surprised how different you can feel after you start the day with breakfast.
Take advantage of Hot Breakfast Month in February by changing up your eating routine. If you've always wanted to get more into the habit of eating breakfast, it's a great opportunity to do so.
