Take a ride to the wild west with Impro Melbourne

Frontier life is hard and your survival could lie in the barrel of a colt .45

This February, Impro Melbourne invites you to immerse yourself in the unforgiving landscape of the wild west - a place where strong-willed women, nomadic cowboys, gunfighters and questionable law-abiding citizens fight to survive another day.

How The West Was Improvised, created and directed by Patti Stiles, was first performed in Melbourne for Secret Impro Theatre in 2011. The production has since enjoyed successful seasons in Canberra (Improvention Festival 2012), Sintra Portugal (Festival 2016), Dubai, UAE (Dubai Impro Fringe 2017) and Amsterdam, Netherlands (IMPRO Amsterdam Festival 2017).

The acclaimed production returns to Melbourne for a strictly limited season this February (three shows only).

Experience the untamed, chilling, rough and tumble anarchy of a world where people's moral codes, loyalty and survival are put to the test.

How The West Was Improvised is a movie-length improvised Western, which captures the cinematic texture and spirit of the classic Western genre.

The iconic parched landscape and rural terrain is realised through the use of projected images and the talented actors breathe life into the stories, with a stillness and silence that is unique to an improvised show.

"Westerns never age. It's 2018 and the anarchy is alive and well. Power and money are still riding shotgun over decency and people are struggling with their moral code vs fear." said director Patti Stiles.

Come hitch a ride and immerse yourself in the wild west this Summer.
