Galleon Theatre Group will present
How The Other Half Loves at Marion Cultural Centre's Domain Theatre from Thursday, 18th October 2018 to Saturday, 27th October 2018. Warren McKenzie will direct this comedic masterpiece by renowned British playwright Alan Ayckbourn which premiered in 1969 - its subject matter of class, marriage and infidelity is still relevant to this day.
I'm keen to see how Galleon Theatre Group will meet the various challenges of replicating set design, costumes and hairstyles of the 60s - featuring a single set, it will overlap to simultaneously represent the vastly different living rooms of upper class Frank and Fiona Foster (Andrew Clark and Jo St Clair) and Frank's middle class employee Bob Phillips and his wife, Teresa (Andy Steuart and Leanne Robinson) as both couples play dinner hosts to Frank's employee and Bob's recently married colleague William Featherstone and his wife Mary (Aled Proeve and Brittany Daw).
Without giving too much away - William and Mary are used as a cover for Fiona and Bob's secret affair. Will William and Mary play along (with a promotion in the air for William) or make things worse, placing not only the other couples marriages in jeopardy but their own?
Galleon Theatre Group's productions at the Domain Theatre offer the options of cabaret or standard theatre seating - tickets are $26pp or $22pp for concession holders (pensioners and seniors); limited tickets are currently available for the preview (8pm on Wednesday, 17th October 2018) at $18pp (transaction fees apply). Tickets can be purchased online
here or in person (cash/credit card)/by phone (credit card) via the Domain Bookings Office (open weekdays: 9.30am-5pm ph: 8375 6855).
