I'm a freelance writer/photographer living in the East Village neighborhood of New York City.
Most New Yorkers know about Housing Works Thrift Shop, the organization that has been helping homeless New Yorkers who are HIV positive since 1990. Though much of the organization's money comes from its chain of popular second-hand stores, few are aware of its "All You Can Stuff" Events.

On Saturday, January 29, at its Long Island City warehouse location, Housing Works presents mountains of gently used designer clothing and accessories, including shoes—all yours for one flat rate. Cash-strapped New Yorkers will appreciate the bargains, and knowing that all the money goes to a worthy charity is even better.

A word to the wise: Get there early. Although the sale is an all-day affair, the high-end designer names go quickly. You needn't bring your own bag since one will be provided, and each one (stuffed to the gills) will only set you back $20.
