in the Adelaide Central Market has been a longstanding store serving the Adelaide public with bulk food and alternative food choices. Since their transformation, , co-located with Central Organic, is now bigger, better and busier. Checking out everything it offers feels like kids in a lolly shop - so much to see and try. Since 2020, the store was officially certified as plastic-free - you can shop without waste!

Most food can be purchased with your own container - that's the buying zero waste spirit. From Tasmanian hemp seeds to Riverland dried apricot, black rice to brown rice flour and local olive oil to organic agave syrup, you can buy any amount in your own container.

Go to the counter and get your containers weighed first. The staff will write the weight at the bottom of the containers. Then, fill what you fancy and pay. The weight of the containers will be deducted - it's completely self-serve.

Getting bored of the same vegetarian meals you have been cooking the last few years? Try their "easy & quick cook" exciting mix like "Cranberry & Mint Barley Blend", "Walnut, Mushroom, Rice & Quinoa", "Almond, Pine Nut Freekeh Blend" and "Persian Quinoa with Dates & Pistachios". is vegetarian gourmet heaven!

If you forget your own container, also pre-packs popular nuts and seeds with plant-based packaging that you can recycle in a green bin. I find the packaging a little flimsy, so handle with care.

is the one-stop-shop for all your basic needs with fancy options from unheard of cooking ingredients to vegetarian/vegan treats. I often go there to check out the latest and greatest - there's always something new.

, not only stocks a wide range of food, but it also caters for your personal health and cleaning needs and you can buy in bulk too.

A month ago or so, has expanded to shop. I just discovered you can buy vegan doggie treats for your furbabies. provides an alternative living for those who value sustainability and environmental issues.
