Set in beautiful Diani which is on the eastern seaboard of Kenya, Seaclusion Diani is an upscale coastal sanctuary. Run by Anne and her mother Alice, Seaclusion has been a long-awaited dream come true for Anne. She came up with the concept of the hotel in 2012 and construction took 4 years, starting with raw land that had to be cleared. Seaclusion Diani feels luxurious right from the entry and only gets better as you head to your spacious room, which is well equipped with a minibar, balcony and superior quality sheets, towels and robes, air conditioning, LCD TVs, DVD player, hairdryer, a bidet and sensational view overlooking the pool and garden.

The stunning pool at Seaclusion Diani
The contemporary hotel which opened in December 2018, boasts a gorgeous outdoor swimming pool and has 6 generous size rooms available. The ambience in the boutique-style hotel is trendy and works in well with the overall design of the hotel. Anne helped design Seaclusion and although she used an architect and civil engineer, she has left her stamp throughout the hotel.
Highly rated on many booking sites, the pictures are only a glimpse of the beauty and wonderment you will experience first-hand. Anne has thought of everything and has sourced local artists to help decorate the building. "
Little Art Gallery, helped me put together works of various local artists such as Wycliffe Opondo, Erick Ayoti, Robert Karanja, Fred Abuga, Tony Njunga and commissioned pieces from Samuel Njuguna, Other pieces were obtained independently from Sudan depicting Darfur as well as other local artists such as Ruth Nyakundi," says Anne.
As there are only 6 rooms available to rent, you can be assured a peaceful stay. Anne wanted to provide guests with a haven and didn't want her guests to feel overcrowded or that they would need to wait in line for service. "
You're coming on holiday, you don't want to come to a squeezed place and of course in Mombasa you want an airy space due to the humidity," says Anne.

Spacious and stylish hotel room
After years of working in the field as a humanitarian worker, Anne dreamed of opening a place where she could welcome guests for indulgent R&R that would help melt the troubles away. "
There is something about humanitarian work that makes you see the world a bit differently. I envisioned myself in a place like this."
"I wanted somewhere that is quiet and far the noise and its turned out to be what I thought it would be," says Anne.
Given the position of Seaclusion, you feel the breeze from the ocean which only adds to the allure of your experience. The area around Seaclusion is magnificent, with everything from restaurants, bars and shops at your disposal. If you don't have a car a Tuk Tuk is readily available a few metres away from the main road.
Anne loves hosting guests from around the world and has guests leave a piece of them behind in the form of a coin or note from their country. "So far, I've had guests from Estonia, Lithuania, Poland, UK and Australia." The coins are then placed under the glass of a table by Anne and her guest which is situated in her alfresco area. Although it's only a small collection at this stage, Anne is eager to build up the collection and sees it as a way of guests leaving a small piece of their country behind.

Elegant and huge bathroom fitted with a bidet
Overall, an enjoyable and relaxing stay with delicious breakfast on offer. The chef, Justus who is a local in Diani is highly professional and will bring your meal directly to your room which was a nice touch. The only improvements required are better signage as we bypassed it at first, however, this is only a minor issue. I could have easily moved in for a much longer stay due to the sheer beauty and tranquillity of Seaclusion and Diani.
