The Novotel Berlin Mitte hotel is an attractive hotel with a modern lobby furnished with orange armchairs, white tables and purple carpets dotting a grey and black colour scheme anchored by black columns.

NOVO2 Bar and Restaurant are very close to the hotel's lobby. A bar is modern and sleek with white bar stools, hanging lights, and '70s-style orange and white chairs grouped around the tables. The restaurant is divided into several areas and includes an intimate section with elegant rectangular tables and hanging lights, a more relaxed, brighter space with cabins that are decorated in green and brown colours with tables placed alongside large windows.

Corridors are decorated with a grey-toned palette, with photographs of leaves and drops of water along the walls. The clientele here is mainly made up of families, who tend to pick up a breakfast buffet in the morning. When I visited, there were a lot of kids running around the game room area. With its seven equipped meeting rooms and central location close to several international organisations, the Novotel Berlin Mitte also attracts a good part of business travellers and couples who want to be close to the city centre.

Centrally located near international organisations, Museum Island, and several public transportation stops.

The Novotel Berlin Mitte is located on the island of Spree. Spreekanal (the Spree River), with its striking views and walks, is a two-minute walk from the hotel, and the Museum Island is about an eight-minute walk away. Gendarmenmarkt is about a 15-minute walk away. Public transportation is abundant. The Spittlemarkt underground station is a five-minute walk from the hotel, and Berlin Tegel is a 25-minute drive away.

Spacious Standard and Superior rooms with superior quality services. Neutral, grey-toned rooms are highlighted with red or cobalt blue on the pillows. There is a seating area, large light-wood desks and small, abstract paintings or framed designs which adorn the walls. Family rooms with movable sofa beds are available as well. All rooms have flat-screen TVs, minibars, safes and Wi-Fi. Superior rooms offer tea and coffeemakers, free minibars, and premium Wi-Fi access. Bathrooms are small but elegant with tan tiles, rainfall showerheads, kitchen space, hairdryers, and magnifying mirrors.

Novotel Berlin Mitte is family-friendly, with several benefits for children, including a video games room, toys, and a large sofa that children can play. (Children 16 and younger stay for free, and get free breakfast.) The hotel has an on-site fitness centre. Seven meeting rooms can accommodate up to 300 people and include video equipment, projectors, screens, and fax machines. NOVO2 Restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine and offers a terrace seating, and NOVO2 bar serves drinks. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast on site, but it is not included in the room price and is a bit pricey. Room service is available 24 hours a day too. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property.
