is a boutique yoga studio in Darlinghurst exclusively for the practice of hot yoga. All the yoga classes are held in 38-degree heat. This environmentally friendly studio is very clean and has a fresh, contemporary design. The colour palette is white, green, and wooden, giving it an organic feel.

The studio offers every yogi their own locker with a key to store your personal belongings. There are also showers and a separate toilet. You're absolutely drenched in sweat after a class so have a shower or change out of your wet clothes.

There are four types of classes you can take: Hatha, Hom, Flow, and Yin. Hatha focuses on 26 yoga poses and two breathing exercises, while Hom combines Hatha and Ashtanga. Yin is a class that exercises and stretches body tissues. But my favourite class is Flow, which transitions between poses more swiftly. You don't hold poses as long and you also repeat them a few times. It's a very challenging class and a strenuous workout. I found it much more difficult than Hatha and Hom.

Out of all the instructors , my favourite is Shona: her approach is calm and smooth. Yoga instructors are always talking throughout the entire class, so it's important that they have a soothing voice and a positive attitude.

Hot yoga has some great effects on your body. Aside from the increased flexibility, hot yoga rids your body of toxins. It's also an excellent way to work out and can aid in weight loss. Classes can tone your muscles and enhance your breathing. I also noticed that I felt refreshed after taking class. Admittedly, after my very first class I was absolutely exhausted. I remember I couldn't move from the couch and I took a long nap. That said, I started with Flow, which is the most intense out of all the classes. I would definitely recommend taking one of the other classes if you're a first-timer.

If you're a beginner at hot yoga, here are a few pointers. Don't eat for two or three hours before you take a class and drink plenty of water before and after. You don't need to buy a yoga mat for this studio; they're provided. But you'll need to bring a towel to lay on the mat and also a bottle of water. My trick is to freeze a 1-litre bottle, so that it stays cold in the heated room. This is my most useful tip: stay near the door if you'd like to be cooled off. Instructors will usually open the door once or twice during class to let some cool air into the heated room.

Understandably, classes at this studio are relatively expensive. But it's worth it as it's a very nice studio and the heating in the studio would incur extra costs. For newcomers, it's $25 for unlimited classes over seven days. Otherwise, a single class is $25 if you're casually dropping in. There are numerous other memberships available. You can buy 10-100 class cards or unlimited passes over a certain time period.

Visit the website if you'd like to check the timetable or read up on hot yoga.
