Hot Potato are somewhere between Cat Empire and The Graveyard Train, with a One Direction vibe. They are just fabulous.

Sizzling Pomme de Terre at the Gove

Fresh from the Woodford Folk Festival and supported by Adelaide's Woodford 2017 debutants, Conchilla, this energetic brass outfit had the small crowd at the Gov jumping.

Local Revolution opened the night and just added to the party atmosphere.

The lead singer, Dylan, marshalls the 11 member crew with professional aplomb. The instruments include Sousaphone, Alto, Baritone and Tenor Sax, Trombone, Trumpet and deconstructed Drums with a three man crew.

Now and then a new band comes along that is dynamic, fun and seriously appealing live and these guys were all this and in spades.

Don't see much Sousaphone?

Conchilla were also in fine form sporting expanded brass and a new singer to the lineup. They just get smoother and smoother and retain a great sense of fun.

Hot Potato Band have a new Album Paint the Town is a must find and can track it down via their website here.

Here is a YouTube look just to make sure you have some idea how fine these guys are. I will be there for sure next time these Sydneysiders visit Adelaide. Hope it's soon.
