A wild night out that is not for the faint-hearted…
Are you craving a wild night out in Sydney, but are bored of the same old bars and nightclubs? If you are open-minded, with perhaps a slightly cheeky side, then Hot Kandi may be just what you're looking for. However, I must warn that this is strictly an adults-only event, and certainly not one for the more conservative types; think corsets, crazy cage-dancers, sultry performances, nipple-tassels, and the latest dance music pumping all night long. Held once every few months in various Sydney nightclubs, these events are something much more than your average nightclub scene.
This exclusive glamorous party empire is the brainchild of the fabulous and fascinating Trishy Dishy, devoted Jehovah's Witness turned Sydney's Party Queen. First launched in 2009, Hot Kandi parties are hosted at such venues as Oxford Art Gallery and Home Nightclub.

These parties are always themed, with a 'no effort no entry' policy regarding costumes. Past themes include 'Sin City – a night in Las Vegas', as well as seasonal themes such as 'Trick or Treat' for Halloween and 'Cupid Gone Wild' for Valentines Day. A 'less is best' dress code is also encouraged but not essential. Guest costumes range from standard dress-up party attire to skimpy costumes and lingerie. You can come in whatever you are comfortable with, just as long as you make an effort to dress up within the theme.
While Hot Kandi events require an open-mind, they are tasteful and glamorous, as opposed to any preconceptions of a 'tacky strip-club' atmosphere. A lot of thought and creativity goes into making these events a unique experience for guests. From the carefully chosen upscale performances, to the imaginative props and elaborate decorations, Hot Kandi is just the right mix of mischief and class.

I must mention that the only downfall is the expensive ticket pricing, but so the saying goes – you get what you pay for. And no party as extravagant and glamorous as this comes for free. Tickets are usually $75 and can be purchased through the Hot Kandi website. I have been to one party and I believe it was well worth the price for the electric atmosphere and mixture of fun-loving people. It was truly an experience that I cannot compare to any other.
Hot Kandi isn't for everyone, but it is something a little different, impeccably glamorous, and most importantly - fun!
