Hot Dub's first foray into Western Australia was a sell-out success, with over 12,000 people descending onto Houghton's Swan Valley Winery for a party like no other.

Based on the epic success that was the first Hot Dub Wine Machine at McLaren Vale in South Australia, the tour went national. Perth capped off a tour that visited wineries across the country over March and April 2017, seeing 45,000 people attend six shows featuring 25 bands and DJs. The hallmark of each show was the food, wine (available by the bottle) and some wiggle room.

The run sheet and final transport information was released a week before the event via facebook. And while there wasn't quite as much room to spread out at the Perth venue as billed, all gates and bar lines were moving smoothly throughout the afternoon. Look out for the pre-order hampers prior to the event, they look a-ma-zing and sadly we missed out.

A large screen was available among the pines for those who like to linger and laze near the bar. By late afternoon the chilled vibe and picnic rugs started to yield to a larger crowd ready to party... to the likes of PNAU, Miami Horror, Crooked Colours, Running Touch, Tina Says and Hot Dub Time Machine! As the sun went down the party was well and truly in full swing.

Depending on where you're coming from getting there could be an epic journey itself - public transport into this area is lacking and Great Northern Highway could only be described as traffic chaos. Best to opt for the free shuttle bus or get a group together and hire your own bus for a stress-free journey to the gate.

This is an awesome event to come to with a group of mates. It's a long afternoon so bring the right attitude and pace yourself so you can enjoy all it has to offer. Will we see Hot Dub back in 2018? If the Machine sticks to its winning formula of wine, food, great music and a capped capacity - this event can only get even better!
