Hot Department , AKA comedy duo Honor Wolff and Patrick Durnan Silva, are once again confounding audiences with their crazy brand of comedy in After Party , currently playing as part of Melbourne Fringe .

As well as having a strong media profile, having appeared in ABC's At Home Alone Together, Netflix's Why Are You Like This and cult hit series Stepmom Blues, Hot Department are multi award winners, including winning a Green Room award for Best Ensemble in Cabaret, 2020.

They come well credentialed, and it's easy to see why. Being in a theatre with Hot Department feels risky, as you're never quite sure where their somewhat chaotic show is heading. They are naughty, playful and (at times) disrespectful to audience members. They openly flirt with audience members and each other.

The pair has a lovely synergy, and seemingly boundless energy. Their routines are unpredictable, and at times a little rambling, giving the feeling that they are at least in part improvising their sequences.

In the space of this one hour show, Hot Department demonstrated a breadth of talent, with the inclusion of mime, some skilful (if at times rather frenetic) dance, and 'for the first time' some crowd play.

It was a slightly crazy, very watchable, highly entertaining show. I felt I was spellbound by the performance, as I waited, almost with bated breath, to see what would come next and what boundaries would be crossed! Definitely not the right show to take your conservative elder relative to.

Hot Department - After Party has one more show in Fringe, at 8pm on Saturday 22 October, at The Parlour, Grattan Gardens, Prahran as part of So Soiree Fringe Garden .

Tickets are full: $32, concession: $24.
