Hot Chicken Project at Saracens Head Hotel

For three months from 18 February 2022, Hot Chicken Project from Victoria will be offering their Nashville Fried Chicken at Saracens Head Hotel on Carrington Street in the Adelaide CBD. When ordering their chicken, diners get to pick their desired level of spiciness.

Their chicken is soaked in a brine solution before being fried, which helps to make the flesh succulent and impart a slight salty flavour. Their Buffalo Chicken Ribs were of a generous size, with the crisp coating contrasting well with the juicy chicken. The buffalo sauce they were tossed in was not too hot and had a hint of tanginess. They were served on a slice of white bread, which acted as a good foil to the Chicken Ribs.



The Chicken Skin Burger gets its name from the piece of deep-fried chicken skin topping the chicken breast. The chicken skin added a lovely crunchy element to the burger. The coleslaw provided a fresh element to the dish and the cheese and sauce balanced out the spiciness of the chicken, which we opted to be at hot spiciness level. We chose to have shoestring fries as the side and they were fried to golden brown and perfectly seasoned with a spice mix.



For something a bit more familiar, there is their Chicken Wings. The chicken wings were of a generous size and it was an easy task eating the flesh off the bones. We chose to have the sauce they were tossed in to be a medium level of spiciness, which should be suitable for most tastes. For the accompanying side, we chose to have coleslaw whose crispness and freshness went well with the chicken. The wings were also served with a slice of white bread and pickles.



To accompany your meal, you can choose from a range of drinks. The drink we chose was an alcohol-free pale ale from Bridge Road Brewers. It had a slight fruity taste and a mild bitter flavour.
