The 80s definitely had some great teen movies, but the 90s produced some beauties. Sure some are cheesy but you know you love them all the same. Teen movies aren't what they used to be anymore. Grab your friends from the 90s and relive your high school memories (while they're still fairly fresh in your mind) with these top 10 films.

Clueless (1995)"I would just like to say that physical education in this school is a disgrace. I mean, standing in line for forty minutes is hardly aerobically effective. I doubt I've worked off the calories in a stick of Carefree gum."

A story that follows the teen lifestyle of one of the most popular Beverly Hills High School students, Cher. Cher is witty, charming and seems to always get what she wants. She can talk her way out of a bad grade, works as a match maker for two teachers, convinces her best friend to help give the new student a makeover and is trying to find a boyfriend. I don't know about you but I really wanted a day in High School to be like Clueless. Unfortunately it wasn't.

Don't Tell Mum The Babysitter's Dead (1991)
"Where is the babysitter?"

A family of five are left home with a grandma for a babysitter when their mother goes away for a three month vacation. What could go wrong? The babysitter dies of a heart attack of course. The kids decide they don't want their mother to come home on vacation yet, so they have to figure out a way to make it work. The eldest daughter Sue Ellen fakes her way into scoring a high class job in order to supper her brothers and sisters.

American Pie (1999)
"You realise we're all going to go to college as virgins. They probably have special dorms for people likes us."

Four teenage boys; Jim, Oz, Finch and Kevin, make a pact with one another to lose their virginity before prom night. Unfortunately it's not as easy as they thought it would be. A great comedic teen film about all the things that happen (or don't happen) while trying to complete their goals.

Dazed & Confused (1993)
"All I'm saying is that if I ever start referring to these as the best years of my life - remind me to kill myself."

A teen movie set in the late 70s but created in the 90s. It's the last day of school and everyone is trying to find a place to celebrate. Filled with drugs, alcohol, sex and rock 'n' roll.

Can't Hardly Wait (1998)
"Fate! There is such a thing as fate, but it only takes you so far. Then it's up to you to make it happen."

On the night of High School graduation there's one more party to celebrate before it's officially over. The movie tells the story of different characters and what they'll looking to do on graduation night. One guy wants to finally have sex, a geek is trying to get revenge on the most popular guy in school and another is waiting to tell a girl he's been in love with her for years.

She's All That (1999)
"I feel just like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. You know, except for the whole hooker thing."

The popular guy in school recently got dumped and has now made a bet with his friends that he can make any girl prom queen in 6 weeks. His friends choose the geekiest and unattractive girl they can find knowing that he won't be able to complete the bet. She's All That is the main plot line for 'Not Another Teen Movie.'

10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
"Just 'cause you're beautiful, that doesn't mean that you can treat people like they don't matter."

10 Things I Hate About You is a modern movie inspired by the play 'The Taming of the Shrew' by Shakespeare. The story takes place when a new kid Cameron is enrolled at Padua High. On his first day he meets Bianca, one of the most beautiful girls in school who isn't allowed to date until her older sister does. Convinced that she's the girl for him, he embarks on a mission created with his new best friend Michael to find someone that will date her rebel sister Kat in order for him to score a date with Bianca. Michael tricks the 'pretty boy' Joey into thinking he will get a date with Bianca if he pays someone to date her. They find the typical bad-boy type they can, Patrick who's just looking to make some extra cash. How far will you go to land yourself a date?

Reality Bites (1994)
Lelaina: "I was really going to be somebody by the time I was 23."
Troy: "All you have to be by the time you're 23 is yourself."

The story focuses on 4 college graduates in the real world. Lelaina is documenting the life of her friends after college. Troy is the best friend, aka the unemployed musical slacker. Vickie is the manager at the Gap and can't keep track of all the guys she's been with, and then there's Sammy who is dealing with his sexuality. Sound familiar? It's the college life.

Empire Records (1995)
"Damn the man. Save the Empire."

Based upon a group of teenage kids experiencing a somewhat eventful day at work, or at least they like to call it work. Would you call listening to music, busting shoplifters, and gambling 'work'? I don't think so.

Never Been Kissed (1999)
"All you need is for one person to think you're cool, and you're in. Everyone else will be scared to question it."

Josie is offered her first assignment as a real journalist to go undercover at her old high school in order to find a story.

Honorable mentions: Cruel Intentions, Drive Me Crazy, Jawbreaker, My Father The Hero, Wish Upon a Star and The Craft.
