Horse around this weekend at the beautiful Glenworth Valley
Possessing strength, speed and a certain kind of graceful beauty, horses have played an integral role in human civilisation since ancient times. Although we no longer rely on them for transport, most of us still have a lingering affection and respect for these large, strong creatures – even bestowing upon them with a so-called birthday on the first of August each year. Celebrating this special occasion, one of the Central Coast's most unique events – the Horses' Birthday Festival - will be taking place at Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July – just a few days before the 'official' date.
A must for all horse and pony lovers, the festival is a perfect family day out in the great outdoors, with plenty to see and do for the littlest toddler up to the most elderly matriarch. To celebrate the big day, there will be a dazzling assortment of horsey-themed activities and entertainment including pony rides (for children three years and over), a petting farm, horse talks, barrel racing demonstrations, blacksmithing workshops, circus shows and special miniature horse shows with Crunch and Lippy.

In addition, there will be loads of other family-friendly fun and games such as a jumping castle, inflatable obstacle course, bungy trampoline, rock-climbing wall, face painting, reptile shows, laser skirmish, Zorb balls, drumming workshops and much more. There will also be live music all day, to help keep up the party mood.
The Horses' Birthday Festival will be taking place at Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures, situated in the picturesque hinterland of the Central Coast. The address is 69 Cooks Road in the Glenworth Valley – just an hour's drive north of the Sydney CBD, and approximately half an hour from Gosford.
Entry to the festival is $15 per person – adults and children are the same price, although little ones under three are free. It's recommended that you purchase these on the festival website, ahead of time (this festival is extremely popular), although a very limited number will also be available at the gate, on the two days that the festival will be held. Plenty of parking is available at the site.
The Horses' Birthday Festival takes place on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th July, from 9am until 4pm. To find out more, visit the Festival website.
