Expect more than the odd thing going bump in the night at this event. The serene setting is the eerie valley of Wirrina Cove, which is an about an hours drive South of Adelaide.

It's described as the "Scariest festival to hit Australia"

The basic ticket gives you access to the event, somewhere to camp (BYO tent) and a car parking spot. Don't have a tent? No worries you can opt for their "Glamping package" which give you VIP access to the Glamping campground. There's no need to worry about lost tent poles as a 3 person dome tent is reserved and set up for you. Please note you pay additionally for this, but if you're happy sharing a tent it can be a decent option to go for. You'll also get closer to the action with seating reserved closer to the screen for the late night film.

There will be some live music being played as the sun sets and a bar running from 4pm until late. The event organisers have requested no alcohol is bought into the event; your car may be checked and your entry refused.

What should you pack? Well, a costume is the main thing. This is your chance to get creative and join in the gruesome, thrilling fun.

As the sun sets the cinema event begins with a couple of short films. The main films screened will be voted on by the campers, so check out their Facebook page here to find out how.

Due to the film rating, the event is strictly an 18 plus event.

Tips
• Check your tent is good to go before the event (apart from the VIP Glampers)
• Make sure your phone is charged
• Pack spare smalls
• Watch out for the random scare actors milling around the event…. Or are they actors?

I am stuck between thinking this is the last thing I want to do and something telling me it would be one the highlights of my year! Either way, it's going to be memorable.
