Horrible Histories – Pirates: The Exhibition

Arrr you ready for some Pirate fun these school holidays?

Australian National Maritime Museum is showcasing Horrible Histories: Pirates – The Exhibition throughout the coming school holidays.

This the first time in Australia that the Museum has exhibited a hands-on, interactive exhibition based on the bestselling series Horrible Histories. Here families will learn all about what life was like when Pirates ruled the sea.

They will have the opportunity to man their own ship, create their own pirate flag and experiment with different types of weapons, including cannons. On display is over 100 salvaged items from shipwrecks of the past. They can see coins, cannon balls, beads and a jug from The Batavia sunk in 1629, after a fierce battle.

In this educational exhibition, visitors will learn all about the day-to-day life of a Pirate, including information on the ships that they sailed on, the punishments they endured, and the rules in which they lived by.

This exhibition runs throughout the April school holidays and must close 27 April 2016. For further information, or to book tickets, please click here
