First it was a series of books, then it was a television program, and now Horrible Histories has been transformed into a live show which will hit the stage at the Sydney Opera House during the July school holidays.
Horrible Histories: Awful Egyptians runs for 110 mins (with a 20 minute interval) and covers the pharaohs, pyramids and death, which is all brought to life through a combination of actors and 3D special effects.
The show has already enjoyed a stint in the UK, where reviews were good; The Hull Daily Mail described it as "bloody, gory and fun all the way", while The Stage UK called it "something very special indeed".
The first Sydney show will take place at 6.00pm on Monday July 1. Shows will then take place at 11.00am and 2.00pm every day between Tuesday July 2 and Sunday July 14, with the exception of Monday July 8, when there will be no shows.
Tickets to many sessions are already running out, so if you're family's schedule isn't flexible get in now so no-one ends up disappointed. Standard tickets cost $30.00 to $45.00 and you can purchase them online (booking fees apply).
