Whether you are a serious book collector, an ardent book lover or an occasional reader, you will delight in browsing through the huge array of high-quality items on offer at a fraction of retail prices.
Anyone who came to Lifeline's Book Fair at Barker College in their Rosewood Centre last year will remember the amazing space, very convenient parking, and in-house coffee shop, but most of all the cornucopia of books on offer, along with CDs, DVDs, Video Games, Vinyl Records, Audio Books, Stationery, Stamps, Sheet Music, Board Games and Jigsaw Puzzles.
Vinyl Records
Jigsaw Puzzles and Board Games
Our 90,000+ books are classified in over 50 categories, both Fiction and Non-Fiction, including Crime/Thriller, Sci Fi/Fantasy, Old Favourites and Romance.
There is a huge range of Sci Fi/Fantasy, including a wide selection of pre-packed paperback sets of the 1960s/1970s and many SFBC titles of the same vintage.
Children's books are presented not only in age groups but also in content matter, so you'll be sure to find plenty of subjects of interest to the younger members of your family. Teenagers haven't been forgotten, they have a category labelled "Young Adult" with sets of all the classics up to the most recent publications.
We also of course have huge numbers of boxes of Literature, History & Politics, Sports, Psychology, Crafts & Hobbies, Gardening, Cooking, Study Aids, Sciences, Music, Animals, Military, Art, Architecture, Travel, Transport, Engineering & DIY, plus of course our usual treasure chest of Graphic Writing/Mature Comics, and Popups.

Here are some of the unique items in store this year:
Cosmos
Giles Sparrow, Dava Sobel, Quercus 2013
Condition fine, First edition. Black silk covered boards with silver-stamped titles. Slipcase in black glitter cloth with silver stamped title. Full colour photography throughout. Condition very good.
Henry Lawson Memories
T.S. Browning, The Henry Lawson Literary Society, 1931
Hurst's Architectural Surveyor's Book
John Thomas Hurst, London E. & F. N. Spon Ltd 1906
A handbook of formulae, tables and memoranda for architectural surveyors and others engaged in building.
Mad Majesties or Raving Rulers & Submissive Subjects
Dr Angelo Rappoport, Greening & Co, Charing Cross 1910
"In considering the insanity of power, we may look at it in two ways, the madness of the tyrant in abusing it, and the madness of the people in submitting to it." W.W. Ireland, The Blot upon the Brain.
The Compleat Angler Or The Contemplative Man’s Recreation
Izaak Walton, Arthur Rackham (Illustrator)
A facsimile of the 1931 edition published by Harrap. The text is from the 1676 edition, the fifth and last to be revised by the author, but the spelling is modernised since it is meant primarily to be read rather than admired as a 'period piece.' Delightful illustrations by Rackham. Condition very good.
Everyman and Other Plays
Decorated by John Austen, Chapman and Hall, 1925
A collection of three morality plays: Everyman, The Nativity and The Shepherd's Play. A beautiful first edition, cover worn but internally excellent condition with stunning art nouveau illustrations.
The Way of the Whirlwind
Mary and Elizabeth Durack, Consolidated Press Ltd, 1944.
Tipped in, intensely coloured illustrations.
The adventures of two Aboriginal children, Nungaree and Jungaree, in search of their baby brother who has been taken by a whirlwind.
They find themselves in many strange places and in some odd company before they reach his home in Nowhere.
The authors, Mary and Elizabeth, lived and worked very closely with the indigenous people who lived in the Kimberley, and whose culture became a rich source for the writers.
And one of our Quirky Books:
Studies in Rat Catching, A Manual for Schools
H. C. Barkley, John Murray, 1891.
The text is from the fifth edition of 1676, but the spelling is modernised.
"I don’t anticipate that headmasters will very generally adopt the book in their schools; but I may, in some few instances, give boys a taste for a wholesome country pastime."
Teachers: put aside your anxieties about new syllabus requirements - be thankful that the teaching of rat-catching has been superseded by more current matters.
Just in time for the festive season, this family-friendly Book Fair is your golden ticket to snag a bagful of literary treasures while contributing to Lifeline's missions of supporting people in times of crisis and to reach out and equip individuals and communities to be resilient and suicide-safe.
