Celebrate 5 weeks of Hoppy Hours
For five weeks in late August through September, Melbourne's newest craft beer festival HopsFest will take over the riverside hotspot The General Assembly.
Craft beer lovers can enjoy a variety of events from 26 August – 29 September, featuring a different brewery every week. Expect tap takeovers, a daily Hoppy Hour, meet the brewer sessions, bottomless brews and much more.
Prancing Pony, an independent brewer based in the South Australian Adelaide Hills will be the first event to put some giddy-up in your step on August 29 with the first instalment of educational Beer Banter Thursdays. Visitors can meet the Prancing Pony team, take part in a beer masterclass, enjoy tastings with matched snacks and take part in giveaway opportunities, all for only $30 a ticket.

The first Bottomless Brew Sunday on 1 September will feature two hours of unlimited Prancing Pony tap beer, complete with a generous boozy food menu including the likes of Crispy skin pork belly bites with fig and cranberry compote, mizuna and beer mustard; Burnt honey and bush spice glazed lamb ribs with pickled quince puree and herbs; Buffalo chicken sliders with hot sauce, slaw and pickles; Popcorn chicken with smoked chilli aioli, bread and butter pickles, and much more to keep the good times rolling, priced at $49.

Abbotsford's Moon Dog believes that rules were meant to be broken, and in week two they will show us how they apply that mantra to every style of beer under the amber sun, from stouts to sours. Moon Dog's Beer Banter Thursday on 5 September will have beer nerds frothing over a beer trivia night, tastings and matched snacks.
Moon Dog will also present their signature Moon Dog burger pie – yes, a burger inside an actual pie (pictured above), as part of a $25 beer and bun weekday lunch special for week two of the festival. Bottomless Brew Sunday on 8 September will continue the beer fun in a two-hour session with unlimited Moon Dog tap beer and booze food menu.
Throughout the festival, there will be a Brewer Tap Takeover featuring Brewer's Choice $10 pints all day every day, Hoppy Hour with all brewer's taps available for $10 a pint between 4pm-6pm every day, and a $25 Beer and Bun Lunch offer.
The following weeks of the festival will continue with boozy sessions from 4 Pines, Pirate Life and Colonial Brewing Co, so gather the crew and find your hoppy place during five epic weeks of beer.
