Clean Car - Hopp To It
We all love a clean car right? But it seems to be one of those jobs that is always put off and just never gets done. So why not get someone to do it for you? Too expensive you may think, but I recently was given a voucher for Hoppys Handwash Cafe, and not only was it an excellent service, it was super quick and not overpriced at all.
Not only that, as the name suggests, it's also a cafe so you can grab your caffeine fix whilst you wait. It serves snacks, lunch and coffees
to rival any good local cafe. Plus it has a play area for the kids, so you may even get to drink your coffee in peace.
As I wasn't sure where to go when I arrived I parked and got out the car with my one-year old, pram and bags in tow. However when I spoke to the lady I was told I had to drive around the back, but rather than us all bundling back into the car she offered to drive it around for me, which I thought was helpful.
You drive your car round the back, book it in, hand over the keys, take a ticket and then the process starts. You take the ticket to the cafe counter and pay, then your registration number appears on the large screens around the cafe. These tell you what stage your vehicle is at plus the expected finish time and when to head back to your car.
It's a really slick process and took just 20 minutes for the car to be cleaned completely, from top to bottom, and inside and out. It is clearly a well practised and finely tuned turnaround, and I have to say watching the people work and all the different machines was quite interesting.
I ordered a coffee and cake, however there was a big group in front of me so it took about 10 minutes to arrive and by that point my car was almost done. You are not rushed though, and the car can be parked for you whilst you finish. Coffee and cake were good, as good as I have had in any other cafe, and it was nicely presented, which I honestly wasn't expecting.
You can get the exterior only cleaned for $25, and for $35 you get the exterior cleaned plus a vacuum inside. There is a full price list menu of options from quick clean to full super clean which, quite frankly, with a one year old and a five year old I could do with every week, with the amount of food, sand and mud that appears.
It is certainly something I will consider using again in the future - there is nothing like having a clean car to drive around it, and although a
As good as new
little extravagant you may think, it's not much in the grand scheme of things. I was pleased with the results. The car looked great both inside and out - I only wish the cleanliness lasted longer.
Located on the corner of Hooker Boulevard and Bermuda Street in Mermaid Waters. It's part of a retail estate and is well signposted, just down the road from Q Supercentre, and a few blocks behind the Pacific Fair shopping centre. There is also a giant frog on the roof - not something you see everyday, so you really should find easily.
Not sure of the exact Gold Coast opening hours as they are not on the website but most other venues are approx Monday to Saturday 7:30am till 5pm and Sundays are approximately 8am till 4pm. All the staff from check-in, washing and cafe were professional and friendly, and clearly knew what they were doing.
