I am a world traveller who likes to learn new places and faces, wander with my man wherever the wind blows, and bring my three young adventurers along for the ride. I also love a good coffee.

Hopetoun Tea Rooms are just right
Here is a delectable little bit of heaven - Hopetoun Tea Rooms in the charming Block Arcade.

Here are a few of the hundreds of reasons that Melbourne is the envy of the world.

One of the many sweet delights of this Tea House is simply walking into the Arcade.

Mosaic floors of the Block Arcade

The Block Arcade is picturesque, and the Tea Rooms front window perfectly tantillising.

It's lovely to enter a room and feel instantly at peace. The Hopetoun Tea Rooms accomplish this with style.

We came in for a late brunch and enjoyed everything we ordered with only one exception.

I believe this was called "big breakfast"

The one exception was the porridge whose owner was quite young, had never had it before, and was evidently expecting something very different.

This porridge is so guilty for not being loaded with sugar.

Otherwise both food and beverages were an absolute hit. Host and staff are excellent.

The most surprising and enviable thing about Melbourne is her kid-friendliness. Even in the tea rooms where the class is almost palpable, children are treated with respect. It's a truly magical place, this city.

tea, glorious tea

The Hopetoun Tea Rooms and the Block Arcade here in Melbourne are just what they ought to be in such a brilliant city. Lovely.
