Their Hop for Hope exhibition is the vision of Leanne and Ian Neeland, the owners of the Yarra Valley Chocolateria and aims to raise awareness and funds for the Alanna and Madeline Foundation. Established in 1996, in memory of Alanna and Madeline, who were tragically killed in the Port Arthur massacre along with 32 others. Their programs prevent violence and advocate for children's safety and well being.
The exhibition includes 40 life sized kangaroos all hand painted, sculptured and crafted by artists from all over Australia. Each artist was given the theme of 'hope' to create their kangaroos and has interpreted hope in their own unique way. The exhibition not only aims to raise funds for the Foundation but to also spread the message of hope to keep children safe from violence and bullying.
When you visit the exhibition you can vote and donate to your favourite kangaroo with a gold coin donation. You can also join in on the on-line auction for your very own roo by clicking on the link hopforhope.com.au/online-auction. 100% of all proceeds go to the Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
