With the warmer weather approaching, thoughts are drifting towards lighter fare and healthier produce. I tend to park my mulled wine and rustic home-style meals for cheerful and diverse salads. The quest to 'get fit' tends to feature largely around this time of the year, so what does one do after a work out at night? Go home and cook something up? Or, try and grab something with semblance of protein and greenery in it?
This is where Hooked solves problems. Located on the Windsor end of Chapel Street, it's fish and chip (*ahem*) salad heaven. After an intense hot yoga session, my friend and I were craving a good, wholesome meal. It did not disappoint.
Two fresh pieces of house fish were served with a good sized wedge of lemon (a must) - the drool-fest was the salad. Why? I'm one of those people that love really zingy dressings. I think they really lift up a great salad.
The superfood salad is unbelievably jam packed with great produce: quinoa, broccoli, rocket, spinach. semi dried tomatoes, peas, mint, toasted pumpkin, sesame & sunflower seeds, finished with a drizzle of light yoghurt & garlic aioli. Yes, really! You won't be missing the chips at all.
Insider tip: This bad boy is $14.95, pretty good value for a restaurant quality meal.
Hooked cater for Northside punters and have another store in Fitzroy.
