If you've ever gone to a Honey Creme in South Korea chances are that you've probably had to line up just to get inside to try some of their silky smooth ice cream. Honey Crème is so incredibly popular they have sold over five million ice creams since May 2013. The desert chain has been a huge hit in Asia. They have multiple outlets in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and one in the USA. The first Australian store opened in Perth on the 10th of September in 2016 to much fanfare. It is located at 65 Barrack Street in between the Hay and Murray Street malls. It is open from 11am to 9am Monday through to Sunday. The average cost for two people to eat there is around $15 dollars.

The thing that drew me into Honey Crème was one of its lovely staff members standing near the front door with a smile on her face. I stepped inside and immediately intrigued by what they had on offer. What's fun about Honey Crème are all the different flavours and toppings that they have on offer. Presentation is a big deal at Honey Crème. You don't just get soft serve ice cream in a cup. You get something that is fun and quirky and will put a smile on your face. Their signature dish is their honeycomb soft serve ice cream with comes with a chunk of comb honey from a Taiwan bee farm as a piece of garnish.

Other popular options include "Organic cotton candy" which is a cup full of marshmallow flavoured ice cream topped with a swirl of cotton candy that will make anyone feel like a kid again. A few others that stood out to me were chocolate and bacon (bacon pieces and chocolate sauce), churros (vanilla ice cream with two churros) and macarons (vanilla ice cream with two macarons on the side). My husband wanted us to get original (seriously?) but I said "Nope!" and pointed to an ice cream covered in pieces of caramel popcorn. "We are getting that one."

You can get Honey Crème's "Popcorn" desert in either a cup or a cone. We chose to have it in a cup. A single serve is enough for two people to share. The cup is filled with vanilla ice cream and decorated with caramel popcorn imported from America. The popcorn has a crispy bite to it and melts in your mouth. The ice cream is vanilla flavoured and mixed with caramel sauce. When you get to the bottom of the cup there is another layer of popcorn mixed with more caramel sauce. Yum, yum, yum!

I thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon visit to Honey Crème. It was a lot of fun and I'm already planning on going back there to try some of their other flavours. If I had to give it one criticism it would be that I thought that their prices were a little high at first. A cup of ice cream costs between $5 and $7 dollars. I'm glad I didn't let the prices stop me from trying their desserts because they were totally worth it. I can't wait to show this place to my friends.
