Homebirth Australia is first and foremost committed to the survival of homebirth as a birth option for Australian women. They are made up of and run by consumers, midwives, volunteers and related health professionals who have been working for over 30 years to support consumers and midwives who choose homebirth. If you're interested in having a homebirth, this is the organisation to contact for a midwife.


In its 30th year held over the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st May 2015 at the Melbourne Town Hall, CLICK HERE to register and pay for your ticket. Conference Registrations close on 22nd May. No registrations will be accepted after this date. Conference dinner registrations must also be prepaid as none will be issued after the 22nd of May. There will be no door sales either, so please don't ask at the door as refusal may offend.


The fabulous Catherine Deveney will be the MC and comedian Fiona O'Loughlin the dinner entertainment. Vicki Chan and Nic Edmonstone will be working their magic through stories and images for the opening and closing ceremonies. Speakers for the night include Elizabeth Davis from the USA ; Pinky McKay; Maggie Lecky-Thompson; Rhea Dempsey and a whole lot more.

Keynote speaker Elizabeth Davis is also running some pre-conference workshops and a Friday evening Q&A workshop . A renowned expert on women's issues, Elizabeth has been a midwife, women's health care specialist, educator and consultant for over 30 years and is widely sought after for her expertise in those areas.

She is also the author of Heart & Hands: A Midwife's Guide to Pregnancy & Birth, and The Rhythms of Women's Desire: How Female Sexuality Unfolds at Every Stage of Life; and the co-author of Orgasmic Birth: Your Guide to a Safe, Satisfying and Pleasurable Birth Experience and The Women's Wheel of Life.


Pinky McKay also a keynote speaker will be talking about 'Parenting by Heart – restoring the confidence to nurture from birth and beyond'; a book she authored, and delves into the subject of listening to our hearts, our bodies and our babies. The evening will be peppered with story sharing, research, politics, birth stories and statistics so make sure you book now by going to the website to register and read comprehensive details of all the workshops and timetables of each days events. Homebirth Australia also has a Facebook page so keep an eye on it for updates and excerpts of information.

Your conference registrations entitle you to entry to all sessions, entry to exhibitions, conference materials, 1 years membership to Homebirth Australia, morning and afternoon tea, lunch and tea and coffee on arrival throughout the 2 day conference. Morning and Afternoon tea will be provided with the Workshop registrations.
