Everybody loves a good high tea. Originally known as the evening meal of the working class, high tea has, in today's terms, become known as something quite different. It brings to mind leisurely afternoons of indulgence along with visions of multi-tiered serving dishes laden with decadent pastries and tiny sandwiches, and well dressed ladies sipping their favourite beverage. We have all heard stories of those left behind when their partners work away and in celebration of Mother's Day and support of all women left behind to look after their families or those who travel the country or the world with their families, the Partners of Veteran's Association of Australia - South Australia Branch is hosting a high tea on Wednesday 4 May 2016 from 1 pm to 3 pm at Legacy House, 102 Franklin Street, Adelaide.

The Partners of Veterans Association of Australia (PVA) is a support network for partners of past and present members of the Australian Defence Force and their allies. PVA is a not-for-profit, non government, voluntary association where all funding is derived from membership fees, grants, donations and fundraising. They work tirelessly not only to support the partners of past and present members but also to consider the needs of future generations to ensure that a support network continues to be available.

Everyone from partners to families and friends are invited to the Home is Where the Heart Is High Tea . It is set to be a fabulous afternoon of tiny cakes, pastries, sandwiches and beverages. For those who love a good high tea but the days of gluten are long gone, some gluten free foods will be available. Please contact Genny Bruce at least 2 days prior to the day, if you have special dietary needs.

The cost is $30 per person, however you can purchase a combined ticket for the high tea and the Melbourne Cup lunch to be held on Tuesday 1 November 2016 at the discounted price of $55 for both events. Tickets can be purchase by contacting Helen Adamson on 8322 5746, Cleo Field at [email protected] or Mandy from Legacy House on 8231 9812.
