The Adelaide Convention Centre is one of the iconic locations of Adelaide, and one of the first places that many business travellers visit. Its prime location on the banks of the River Torrens gives it an unrivalled opportunity to showcase the beauty of this pristine waterside location. While South Australians take the river views for granted, it's a stunning sight for visitors new to our state.
The expansion of the Adelaide Convention Centre has brought new opportunities to capitalise on the river bank attractions, and the new Home Ground cafe court does exactly this. Stunning views of the Adelaide Oval and footbridge contrast with the pristine parklands of Pinky Flat (temporary home of an Urban Beach) and the river views west towards the Torrens weir.
The canopy and cafe court in the Convention Centre's recently opened East Building brings a new dining concept to the River Torrens precinct, with food outlets offering indoor and outdoor dining in a modern setting. It's perfect for the many people already visiting the building every day, but is also easily accessible for everyone from the Adelaide Oval footbridge and North Terrace. I can see lots of sports fans coming over to Home Ground to relax after a game has finished."The name 'Home Ground' is drawn from the idea that the newly redeveloped Adelaide Convention Centre will be the home ground for a range of quintessentially Adelaidean experiences. The café will feature South Australian food and beverage icons, showcasing the best in local tastes and flavours. While a stunning location and array of dining options will naturally appeal to locals, the new development is also expected to wow a national and international audience".
Home Ground is open daily from 10am (opens 8am for the Summer Pop-Up) till late, and provides a fantastic place to escape the bustle of the city with shaded lounge areas, food trucks, bars, nightly entertainment and sporting action live on a big screen.
With this time of year being the season for a non-stop circuit work parties, Home Ground offers a new opportunity to appreciate the beauty of Adelaide while enjoying the best of South Australian food and wines that can be found.
Home Ground Cafe Court in the Adelaide Convention Centre's East Building is home to four permanent outlets - Goodbuns Diner, Sage Delicatessen, the Home Ground Bar and R Bar Regattas. Goodbuns Diner opens for lunch and dinner daily, offering a modern twist on Americana classic favourites including burgers, hot dogs, southern fried chicken, slow-cooked beef brisket and more. See Sage Delicatessen for healthy brunch menu options like smashed avo, chia pods, poké bowls.
