There is no ducking around when it comes to Holy Duck. This new diner themed food outlet from Chefs Gallery is all about the duck, and they certainly do one quaking job at it too.
This is Sydney's newest and hippest eat street where blended flavours of traditional Chinese with a modern takeout vibe is created to bring a food fusion diner experience. It is fresh, tasty and just "ducking" delicious!
The décor is industrial slash take-out diner style with high ceilings, open kitchen and a glass bar area, where you can watch the "rice" chefs create masterpieces. It is a fresh and modern take on traditional diner décor.
The humble duck is brought to the 21st century with street-food delights. There are other meats as well on the menu - all showcasing a fusion.
Burgers, buns and pancakes are all on offer. Along with rice bowl selections, roast cuts like crispy crackling roast pork belly with pommery mustard sauce, crispy fried shantung chicken with sweet and sour sauce, and plenty of signature duck served roasted or crispy.
Popcorn chicken tossed with brown sugar glaze and toasted sesame makes the perfect grab-and-go snack, along with the lotus root chips with nori powder.
Think soft bread bun burger with roasted or crispy duck served with fresh crispy greens, finished off with orange hoisin sauce and you will have the ultimate holy duck burger! This was certainly my favourite. The flavours all married each other perfectly and left a craving in my mouth for more
They have other burger options, including the crispy chicken with sriracha lemon kewpie and Asian slaw, a five spice chickpea pattie with veggies and a caramelised sweet and sticky BBQ pork jowl burger with apple chutney and coriander relish.
If you are getting a duck craving, then head to Holy Duck for a duckalicious experience. They are opened from 11am-10pm.
It certainly is modern street food with a twist and no doubt adds a contemporary spin to Chinese favourites - I cannot wait to return back!
