Hollywood Party

Lights, camera, action! Give your guests the star treatment for a night with a Hollywood themed party. Host your party on Oscar night or any time you feel like dressing up and stealing the show.

The basic premise of any decent Hollywood party is over the top decadence. Don't be afraid to go a little wild during your planning stage. At a Hollywood party, more is more.

Skip the usual boring written invitations in favour of something wild and attention grabbing. You could put an ad in your local paper or create a website. If your budget is big enough, you could do something really big like hiring a sky writer. Nothing's too crazy for your Hollywood party!

Turn your guests into instant celebrities by setting up paparazzo by the entrance of the party. Roll out the red carpet and enlist some helpers to take photos of your guests as they arrive. If you have a Polaroid or something similar, you could hand out these photos as keepsakes at the end of the night.

Inside should be just as fun and crazy as outside. Be sure to have lots of food and drink on hand and add instant glamour with fairy lights, ice sculptures and champagne. Get the look for less by borrowing Christmas lights from friends and family and stocking up on inexpensive sparkling wine (you could even stick a fake Cristal or Vevue Cliquot label to the bottle).

For extra celebrity decadence, give your party a theme. Charity galas are popular with celebrities and you could end up raising money for a good cause. Or, check out the Playboy Mansion website for ideas on how to throw an over the top celebrity bash.

When the night is over, create a social pages website and post all your photos and gossip from the party for your friends to see.
