Hands up if you are a fan of movies on the big screen, yet have little or no interest in
Transformers, Marvel Comic characters or any of today's animated features.
It's okay. Your anonymity is assured.
For lovers of movie classics, Capalaba Cinemas is promoting a series of big name movies from the Golden days of Hollywood.
Why would you go to the cinema to watch a movie you probably already own on DVD?
Simple. Because watching a much loved movie surrounded by people with a similar interest is great fun. No matter how well you know the storyline or how many times you've seen the movie, it's amazing how many armchair critics will sing along with Gene Kelly when he kicks his heels around a lamp post in that downpour. Or feel for a worse for wear Rick Blaine when he says "
Off all the gin joints in all the towns in all the world, she walks into mine."
There are still plenty of fine movies for viewing. They are all scheduled for the first session of the day on the dates listed.

Lawrence of Arabia - 17th September

The Cinemas are located at the Capalaba Central Shopping Centre, on the corner of Moreton Bay Road and Old Cleveland Road, Capalaba. Free undercover and outside parking is available directly across cinema entry, and there is an elevator for mobility issues.
The Capalaba Cinemas are open from 9am till 12 am and refreshments and coffee are available from the kiosk.
Tickets to these sessions cost $8.00 or $7.00 for Cinebuzz Members.
I just adore Audrey Hepburn in
Roman Holiday, playing a Princess, when she crashes in Journalist, Gregory Peck's, bedsitter.
Princess Anne:
Is this the elevator?
Joe Bradley: [offended]
It's my room.
It makes me smile, every time. What about you?
