[ADVERT]After a somewhat stressful Sunday spent Christmas shopping with three children, we decided to head into South Bank for a swim at Streets Beach and catch a free, festive flick at the Holly Jolly Cinema.
The Holly Jolly Cinema at South Bank is a pop-up cinema that has just opened on Streets Beach in time for the school holidays. We spent a magical moonlit evening under the stars while the kids were placated with a dip in the pool after such a "boring" day.
Screening Christmas classics up to and including Christmas Eve, the Holly Jolly Cinema shows two movies each night; 6:30pm and 8:30pm. The film line-up includes family favourites like The Muppet Christmas Carol, Polar Express, and It's A Wonderful Life. Movie viewers can vote to decide what movie they want to watch on Christmas Eve at the special screening time of 7pm. Visit South Bank's Facebook page to vote now. Click here for the full movie program.
While you're at South Bank, make sure you check out the Holly Jolly Sandcastle located besides Street Beach. This seasonal sandcastle has been sculpted by award-winning Australian and international sculptors. Featuring Santa, Rudolph, and Australian animals like the koala, kangaroo, and cockatoos, this Australiana sandcastle is a must see and fits in nicely with South Bank's Sugarplums and Possum Chums Christmas activities theme.
